The Historic Macon Music Registry is an ongoing documentation project that interprets and celebrates Macon's rich and diverse music heritage. The Music Registry aligns with ongoing efforts of groups like the Friends of Macon Music, Rock Candy Tours, the Otis Redding Foundation, the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House, Field Note Stenographers, the 5/4 Music Space, and countless others to preserve Macon's music history and revive the city's music scene. Plaques are placed at influential sites that represent the diversity of music's role in shaping the character of Macon’s 'soul.'
